Late afternoon at Joshua Tree National Park
After finally catching up with Gram at the inn we had just enough time to get out to the national park and take a first look. In the event we were caught a bit short by the early sunset -- it came a good half hour earlier than we were expecting. There was time to take a (too) quick look at the first 10 kilometers, and that was it. In some ways, a good thing, because it leaves plenty for next time. We were pleased to have just enough 'juice' in the phones to get some photos -- keeping Michele's Samsung on the charging cable as we drove, and shooting from the cable as much as possible. Not an especially reverent way to inscribe some memories, but we promise to do better next time.
